Posted by RAMUSH - July 6th, 2022

As the question asks, what was the thing or things that truly gave you a moment of joy?

The longer I live the more it seems like happy moments are centered around family and friends... I used to be more of a lone wolf. Not so much now. The most blissful moments are the ones I spend with people I enjoy.

Second to that sunshine, summer, water... being outside and free!

How about you?

Can't say i disagree man, for other than my own growth. Just doing things one has always wanted to do without fear of judgment, it and oh so great of a feeling.

Sounds like you're living the life man. :) Fear of judgement, or failure, or defeat, or anything really... ideal to overcome all!

@Cyberdevil @RAMUSH I feel right in now in the need of material things, but probably is a feeling that fades away with age, when you realise what trully matter is the relations you have between your loved ones... one could get old and full of material things, but thoughtful as if he missed it all, the sharing of one another, the smile people give us, why was it so quickly forgotten by me?

@Alucard Well said! Looking at my parents now it does seem like you first have that phase where you collect things, and then one where you want to just give them away; in some way lessen the burdens of said collection. :) Maybe it's biological, a way to provide. Maybe more so existential, that you realize what little things matter when you have less time left than you have things, and they're all the more tiresome to care for...

Material things are a constant temptation for me too for sure, I love collecting things, I don't want to get rid of anything, but do they really make me happy... not sure. Short term yes. Long term I've mixed feelings about it all, material item's both a comfort and such a waste of time, misdirection from what really seems to matter... and overconsumption's the bane of us all; why the world's in so dire need. Our greed, our want for more than we have use for.

If we only knew what really gave us the bliss we chase in cheap thrills, things and affirmations... the rewarding way never is the easy one, whether that's in wealth of wisdom and all or actual material riches...
